Celebrate Independence Day with Music and the Return of Yoga on the Pier

The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) has planned an exciting lineup of Summer events and activities leading up to and throughout Independence Day Weekend with concerts, markets, art exhibits, roller skating, the Wellness on the Waterfront yoga series presented by Independence Blue Cross, great eats, and more!
“With restrictions lifted, we’re thrilled to be once again working with so many wonderful partners to bring an exciting lineup of free activities to the Waterfront this summer, including the Philadelphia Orchestra and Chill Moody concerts thanks to Wawa Welcome America and the return of Yoga on the Pier courtesy of Independence Blue Cross,” said Joe Forkin, DRWC President.
Summer on the Waterfront Kicks into High Gear with the Opening of Spruce Street Harbor Park on Wednesday, May 26

Spruce Street Harbor Park, a stroll down Philadelphia’s Urban Boardwalk will lead you right into the return of Summer on the Waterfront just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. Between Race Street Pier, Cherry Street Pier, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, and Spruce Street Harbor Park, Philadelphians and visitors will once again have ample space to relax, dine, soak in the views, and have fun on the Waterfront this season.
Visitors will enjoy a brand new set of hammocks with bright new colors, all of which will be undergoing regular, enhanced cleaning protocols, three exciting new boardwalk eateries, and a new contactless arcade payment system with prepaid card swipes and self-service payment kiosks that accept cash or cards. Games such as cornhole, giant Connect Four, giant Legos, bocce, and giant Jenga will return, and of course, the park will be decked out in its signature technicolored lights.

Delaware River Waterfront Corporation Hires Larry Bell as Chief Financial Officer

The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is pleased to announce the addition of Larry Bell as Chief Financial Officer, effective April 19, 2021.
Previously, Mr. Bell was the Executive Vice President and CFO of The Enterprise Center (an organization he co-founded), which provides access to capital, capacity building, business education, and economic development opportunities to high-potential minority entrepreneurs. In this role, he was responsible for all financial aspects of the organization including its capital lending initiatives.

The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is excited to announce the 2021 Spring programming calendar at Cherry Street Pier as a new season blossoms along the Philadelphia Waterfront.
For those people itching to get out of the house and enjoy all that Philly has to offer again, Cherry Street Pier will be a safe, fun Spring destination. The fun begins the first weekend in April with the opening of three new exhibitions, two jazz concerts, two vibrant markets, open studio tours, and art classes. The outdoor Garden Restaurant, run by Four Corners Management, also makes its long-awaited return for weekend pop-up service, providing guests with delicious food, wine, and beer, and unparalleled river and bridge views.

The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation Announces Selection of Developer for Penn’s Landing.
Today, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) announced the selection of The Durst Organization as the lead developer for the Penn’s Landing project. The Board of Directors voted unanimously to select The Durst Organization at a public meeting, concluding a robust multiyear community engagement process. The proposed development will be located on available DRWC controlled parcels at Penn’s Landing on Columbus Boulevard between Lombard and Market Streets.
